The early years of my life were spent living on the coasts of Sussex and North Devon.  Although I have since lived inland for many years, those early formative sights, sounds and smells are planted deep in my soul.  The coast has an inescapable draw for me and the changing mood of the light, water, landscape and skies from warm and serenely calm to the wild and capricious only add to the attraction.  

I am most relaxed and creative in an island setting, and have spent time painting on the Ile de Re, the Ria Formosa, the Scilly Isles and some of the Scottish Islands.  It is about losing yourself and ‘time out’ from our fast paced world, allowing me to keep in touch with nature, open space and freedom in the elements.
